How sharing works

The biggest difference is what you get: a backup drive, or a place your family lives together.

MyFam

  • It’s just your family. Only the people you invite can get in.
  • A shared feed, chat, calendar, and events, not just a folder of backed-up photos.
  • No Amazon Prime or other paid membership is needed to join a family.

Amazon Photos

  • Built for storage and backup first; sharing happens through Family Vault, which holds up to five members.
  • Unlimited full-resolution photo storage requires an Amazon Prime membership; video has a separate storage cap.
  • There is no family chat, shared calendar, or events; it is a photo and video library.
