Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 27, 2026
The MyFam Privacy Promise
We built MyFam to keep our own families close. These promises come first, and the policy below explains how we keep them.
You own your memories
The photos and videos you add stay yours. We don't take a license to your content or use it to train anything. It's there for the family you share it with, and that's the only place it goes.
You decide who sees them
MyFam is invite-only. The people already in your family group are the only ones who can see what you post. There's no public profile for strangers to stumble onto, and no algorithm rearranging your feed.
We never sell your data
We make money from subscriptions, which means we don't have to make it from your data. We don't run ads, and we don't sell or rent your information to advertisers or data brokers. Because we're family-owned, no investor is going to talk us out of that.
MyFam ("we," "our," or "us"), operated by Family Apps LLC, values the privacy of families who use our family social app (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the App:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, and family group connections.
- Photos and Media: We store the images, videos, and other media you upload to the App so they can be shared with your family group.
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect and use location data for our maps feature, which allows families to see locations relevant to the app experience. You can disable location sharing at any time through your device settings.
- Notifications:If you allow notifications, we collect your device's push token and basic device details (such as device type, operating system, app version, language, and time zone) so we can send you family activity, reminders, and account messages. We also record whether a notification was delivered or opened, so we can keep notifications useful and not overwhelming. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
- Usage and Diagnostic Information:We collect technical information about your device (such as device type, operating system, and app version), crash reports, and performance data to improve the App's reliability and performance. This data is collected through Sentry, our crash reporting provider.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide and improve the App's features (including maps, media sharing, and push notifications).
- To maintain the safety and security of our community.
- To communicate with you about updates, features, or important notices.
- To send you notifications about your family's activity and your account and, if you choose to receive them, occasional news about MyFam. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time.
- To diagnose technical issues and improve App performance using crash reports and diagnostic data.
- To process subscription payments and manage your account.
- To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
3. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
- We do not share your data with advertisers for targeted advertising.
- We do not use your photos, media, or personal content for any purpose other than providing the App's functionality to you and your family group.
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We may share your data only in limited circumstances:
- Cloud Infrastructure: We use third-party cloud hosting and storage providers, including Cloudflare, to operate the App and store your account data, media, and content on our behalf. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the App and in accordance with their own security and privacy practices.
- Sentry: We use Sentry for crash reporting and error monitoring. Sentry receives diagnostic and device information to help us identify and resolve technical issues. Sentry does not receive your personal content (photos, messages, etc.).
- OneSignal: We use OneSignal to deliver notifications. OneSignal receives your push token, an identifier that links it to your MyFam account, the device details described above, and delivery and open data. It does not receive your photos, videos, messages, or location. OneSignal processes this information only on our behalf, under a data processing agreement, and may process it in the United States with appropriate safeguards in place for international transfers.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: Subscription purchases and payments are processed by Apple or Google. We do not directly collect or store your payment information. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.
- When required by law, regulation, or legal process.
- To protect the rights, safety, or security of our users and the public.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your content (including photos and media) as long as your account is active.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Once verified, we will delete your personal data and media from our systems within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements. This includes the notification records held by our service providers.
6. Children's Privacy
MyFam is designed for families of all ages, including children. Because our App is family-oriented, we recognize that children may use it with parental involvement.
Parents and legal guardians are responsible for creating and managing accounts for minors and controlling what information is shared. We rely on parents and guardians to provide appropriate consent for their children's use of the App.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without appropriate parental consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you.
- Request corrections to your information.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent to location data collection at any time through your device settings.
- Opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings, and out of any promotional messages using the controls in the App or in the message itself.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected].
9. Changes to This Policy
